Abigail is a ten-year-old girl from Brenners, North Carolina. Previously healthy, she suffered a severe brain injury in early 2019 due to an undiagnosed AVM.
She underwent an emergency craniotomy and subsequent intubation. A second surgery was required following a peri-herniation event due to clot and bleeding in brain. Abigail has made miraculous improvements during the past two years due to her motivation, grit, determination and support from her family. She still requires assistance with ambulation and all personal care needs.
Abigail asked for a swing set with at least two swings so she can invite a friend over to swing with her. We were so happy to provide this for her to make her happy and most importantly, “smile!”
